Johns Hopkins Richard Macksey National Undergraduate Humanities Research Symposium

The Richard Macksey National Undergraduate Humanities Research Symposium brings together students across all fields of the humanities to present their work to a national audience. The Macksey Journal provides an opportunity for symposium participants to develop their presentations into articles for publication. Following the annual symposium, the managing editor and peer reviewers work with the presenters to develop their presentations into journal-length articles.

The Yale Undergraduate Research Conference (YURC) is the nation’s largest and most prestigious student-run research conference, bringing together hundreds of undergraduates from around the world to Yale University. Participants present original research spanning the full spectrum of academic disciplines, from science and engineering to the social sciences and humanities.

NYU Jordan Center Spring Masters and Undergraduate Research Symposium (Slavic/Eastern European Studies)

The Jordan Center invites presentation proposals from undergraduates and master’s students enrolled at universities in the USA and Canada who are pursuing or have pursued research projects, internships, or other opportunities related to Russia, Ukraine, Eastern Europe, and/or Eurasia. Students from any academic field are welcome to apply. 

UCLA Undergraduate Conference on Slavic & East/Central European Studies

This conference gives students the opportunity to integrate their language skills with research on some aspect of Slavic or East/Central European studies and to present their work in a collegially critical and at the same time friendly and supportive environment. Presenting a conference paper is an ideal way to strengthen graduate school applications or add an academic component to your résumé. In addition, those interested have the opportunity to submit their papers for peer-reviewed publication in the on-line UCLA Journal of Slavic and East/Central European Studies.

UC Irvine Comparative Literature Undergraduate Conference in Critical Theory

The Comparative Literature department at UC Irvine invites students to share academic and creative work that engages with comparative and critical theories, including psychoanalysis, critical theory, gender studies, philosophy, postcolonial studies, and rhetoric. 

Yeats Society Sligo International Summer School

An engaging event that integrates an academic programme of lectures and seminars with poetry, tours, music, readings and cultural events. Undergrads attend as guests rather than as participants. Students can apply for full-funding through the summer school.
