French, Welsh – works on medieval French epic and romance, medieval French epics preserved in Middle Welsh, the interface between medieval French and Welsh cultures as seen in medieval French and Welsh Arthurian romances, the grail legends, and on Celtic and Indo-European mythology. Her publications include editions and studies of both the Paris Manuscript of the Chanson de Roland and the Middle Welsh version of that poem, Cân Rolant. (Ph.D. University of California, Berkeley).
